Insurity’s Next Senior Business Analyst I

The Insurity Claims team is seeking a Senior Business Analyst I to support Claims Management product initiatives by partnering closely with the Product Manager to translate business priorities into clear, actionable requirements. This role plays a key part in ensuring alignment between product strategy and delivery through strong analysis, documentation, and collaboration across global teams.

The ideal candidate is a self-driven, detail-oriented analyst with solid knowledge of claims processes and the ability to work effectively in a distributed environment. They bring clarity to complex inputs, translating stakeholder needs into actionable requirements and supporting delivery across design, development, and testing

What Our Senior Business Analyst I Will Do 

• Develop, analyze, and document requirements, including business, functional and non-functional for increasingly complex efforts
• Develop customer-focused documentation for software solutions
• Perform and support testing and/or training efforts
• Perform and coordinate the estimation of work
• Participate in system design and configuration activities
• Act as Subject Matter Expert
• Provide support and mentorship to team members
• Stay up to date on industry and job-related trends and best practices, including reading relevant publications, articles, blogs, etc.
• Other duties as assigned

Who We’re Looking For 

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 4+ years of business analysis experience, including 2–3 years within the insurance industry (claims domain strongly preferred)

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to solve complex business problems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Highly organized with strong time management skills; able to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality
• Self-starter and quick learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Strong active listening skills and a collaborative mindset

Technical & Domain Expertise

• Strong understanding of the insurance industry, particularly claims
• Proficiency with:
  • SQL and data analysis
  • Database design concepts
  • Object-oriented concepts
  • Web services and REST APIs
  • Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Ways of Working

• Ability to work both independently and in close collaboration with other Senior Business Analysts and cross-functional teams
• Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities and evolving business needs
• Experience in process analysis, design, and optimization
• Familiarity with change management practices and supporting adoption efforts
• Ability and willingness to coach, mentor, and support the development of team members

Communication & Leadership

• Strong presentation skills with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences
• Experience facilitating meetings, workshops, and stakeholder discussions

Nice to Have

• Experience with Jira and Confluence
• CPCU or CBAP certification
