Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead Product Designer to join our R&D team at Real. This is a hybrid product design and visual role — you bring strong product thinking AND exceptional visual craft. You own end-to-end design process: from research and ideation through high-fidelity production and delivery. You work fluidly across product UI, marketing visuals, motion graphics, and bridge into design engineering when Figma isn’t enough. You thrive in ambiguous environments, move from a fuzzy brief to a clear design direction with minimal supervision and actively integrate AI into your daily workflow. You have a clear understanding of technology, a foundational knowledge of front-end environments, seek to understand all the data points, love Claude, and are comfortable vibe-coding your design system when it comes down to it. You will help mentor junior designers and shape the design culture at Real while working remotely.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Lead End-to-End Design Process: Own the complete design lifecycle for various products, from initial research and ideation through to high-fidelity visuals and final implementation.

• Create User-Centered Solutions: Translate complex user and business challenges into simple, elegant, and functional design solutions that align with user needs and strategic goals.

• Design Artifacts Creation: Develop user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs that clearly communicate design concepts and ensure an intuitive user experience.

• Usability Testing & Iteration: Conduct user testing and leverage data-driven insights to validate design decisions, ensuring designs meet performance goals and continuously improve based on user feedback.Prototype rapidly to validate concepts and test with users.

• Conversational Interface Design: Design and refine AI-driven workflows, including conversational and non-conversational AI experiences, focusing on clarity, usability, and engagement. Define AI behavior patterns including prompts, system responses, confidence indicators, fallback states, and guardrails to ensure transparent and trustworthy experiences.Continuously monitor usability KPIs and optimize user interactions based on performance data and feedback.

• Design token familiarity: understand design token systems and how they connect Figma to production codebases.

• Github and Front-End Basics: have a foundational knowledge of HTML, CSS and pushing PRs in Github.

Visual Design & Production

• Visual Excellence: Bring a strong eye for typography, color, composition and layout. Pixel -perfect isn’t a cliché for you — it’s a habit. Your work is distinguishable by its craft quality

• Micro-Interactions & System Feedback: Craft refined micro-interactions, motion, and feedback states that make AI responses feel responsive and intentional, including handling latency, streaming responses, progressive disclosure, and error recovery

• Motion Design and Animation: Create compelling motion graphics and animated content using AE.

• Multi-Surface Design: Produce polished designs across all surfaces - iOS, Android, responsive web, and presentations.

Systems and Collaboration

• Mentorship & Guidance: Mentor junior designers, helping them grow their skills, navigate challenges, and refine their design approaches. Foster a collaborative and supportive design culture.

• Drive Design System Evolution: Contribute to and help evolve the design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across all products and features.

• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other cross-functional teams to ensure design solutions align with technical requirements and product objectives. Demonstrate a working understanding of system and component architecture, and front-end fundamentals to ensure designs are feasible and implementation-ready.

• Champion Design Thinking: Advocate for user-centered design thinking across the organization, ensuring that design decisions are informed by user insights and aligned with business objectives.

• Stay Current with Design and AI Trends: You are very familiar with current AI software and keep up with industry trends, best practices, and emerging design tools. Integrate new ideas and approaches into design processes to enhance product experiences. You are proficient with AI-powered design tools and actively use them to accelerate ideation, layout generation, content exploration, and prototyping while maintaining high quality standards.

• Ensure Accessibility & Inclusivity: Ensure that all designs follow accessibility standards and guidelines, providing a seamless and inclusive experience for all users.

• Own Multiple Initiatives: Manage multiple design initiatives simultaneously while maintaining high-quality work and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, communicating proactively when trade-offs need to be made.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Advanced proficiency in Figma and familiarity with design systems.

• Strong research and analytical skills: user research, competitive analysis, and data-driven insights into design decisions.

• Strong communication skills and experience working in agile, cross-functional teams.

• Deep understanding of user interface and user experience principles, with the ability to balance aesthetics and functionality.

• Proven ability to juggle multiple projects and deliver on time in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to mentor and guide junior designers while fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.

• Experience designing for conversational AI agents, particularly with a focus on usability KPIs and iterative improvements.

• Ability to establish patterns and frameworks for responsible AI design

• Strong systems thinking and ability to design for ambiguity

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent professional experience.

• 8-10 years of professional experience in Product Design, UX/UI Design, or a related role.

• Previous experience working in agile environments, collaborating closely with product and technical teams.

• Proven track record of mentoring junior designers and helping them improve their skills.

• Experience with AI-powered conversational interfaces, focusing on user interaction, performance metrics, and optimization is preferred.

• A portfolio that demonstrates range: strong product thinking alongside visual design, motion and systems thinking.
