The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a talented, experienced, Performance Specialist to support our growing Gen AI services. Performance Specialist is a unique role that combines experience in media buying and practical ability to adapt and optimise effective assets.

You should be equally comfortable with discussing a hold out test, learning mode, hooks, and the ABCDs of effective YouTube assets. We appreciate this is a unique skillset, and if you are passionate about performance and willing to learn we are excited to meet you.

This role is Director level. You’ll be expected to have enough autonomy and experience to recognise an opportunity to improve campaign performance and share that with a client or colleagues.

You will be required to use our Generative AI products. Specifically Pencil Pro: https://trypencil.com/ai-for-enterprise. Pencil is our performance platform where you can generate, publish, measure, and optimise every element of a campaign. You’ll be spending the majority of your time on the platform. You will be supported with training and part of a larger team, but expected to become proficient in Pencil and co-create the best practices.

You will have a distributed team to support you generating and optimising assets. So attention to detail, clear communications, familiarity with collaborating in diverse teams, and preferably across time zones will be valuable.

Skill Requirements

• Mandatory: Experience and examples of media planning or buying for Google platforms (YouTube, Ads, or DV360), Meta, and TikTok.

• Mandatory: Experience and examples of media optimisation (either in-flight media optimisation or post campaign analysis).

• Mandatory: Experience and examples of performance asset optimisation (either asset creation, optimisation, iteration or analysis). This can be as simple as Figma or Adobe, or optimising copy lines for example. But you have to show experience and comfort adapting a creative asset to improve performance.

• Mandatory: Comfortable using Generative AI. This role is focused on using Generative AI, if you would prefer not to use Gen AI then we encourage you to consider alternative roles on our website.

• Preferred: A background in performance marketing and familiarity with common formats for mature advertisers such as YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign), skills in Google Web Designer and/or After Effects animation would be superb but not essential.

• Preferred: Experience of working with a creative or design stakeholder, and comfortable expressing basic creative direction and terminology.

• Sharp attention to detail. You’ll be the first call for QA and last approval before assets go live.

• Have the ability to perform effectively to tight deadlines, work well both independently and as part of a team.

• Be passionate, positive and lively with lots of ideas

• Keen to work hard to produce great creative results

• Open, honest, direct and comfortable in giving and receiving constructive feedback

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to improve campaign performance based on pre/in/post flight insights.

• Articulate these opportunities as actionable briefs and/or direction to a distributed design team.

• Opportunities should include a hypothesis, recommendation, and threshold for determining effectiveness. These can be expressed via email, Slack, call, or interpretive dance.

• Provide precise and actionable feedback on assets to ensure they reflect the hypothesis and are likely to improve feedback.

• QA and approve assets to share with clients.

• Action any immediate or relatively simple asset feedback inside Pencil Pro.

• Track the performance of these assets through Pencil Pro in partnership with the client and colleagues. Proactively identify new opportunities and iterate based on client feedback and performance.

• Ensure that projects are delivered to the utmost level of professionalism.

• Effectively communicate creative ideas and strategies to senior teams.

• Consistently produce amazing, original work.
