Gate Attendant, Springer

Position Summary

The Gate Attendant serves as the first point of contact for employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors entering the Blue Moon Metals project site. This position is responsible for controlling site access, verifying authorizations, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring all personnel comply with site security and safety requirements.

The successful candidate will provide professional customer service while helping maintain a safe, secure, and efficient work environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to the mine site in accordance with company policies.
• Verify identification, site authorization, and required training for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Issue visitor badges and maintain visitor sign-in/sign-out logs.
• Ensure all visitors receive required safety information before entering the site.
• Monitor vehicle traffic entering and exiting the property.

• Maintain accurate records of site access, deliveries, and contractor activity.
• Answer incoming telephone calls and direct inquiries appropriately.
• Assist with distributing mail, packages, and site communications as needed.
• Prepare reports and maintain records using Microsoft Office applications.

• Greet visitors, employees, and contractors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Provide directions and general site information.
• Coordinate with site departments regarding expected visitors and deliveries.
• Communicate effectively with security personnel, supervisors, and emergency responders when necessary.

• Promote Blue Moon Metals' commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
• Ensure compliance with site security procedures and company policies.
• Report suspicious activity, security concerns, or safety hazards immediately.
• Support emergency response procedures by maintaining visitor accountability records.

 

 

Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or GED required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Previous experience in reception, customer service, security, administration, or gate operations preferred.

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Professional demeanor with the ability to interact positively with employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in mining, construction, industrial, or remote site environments is an asset.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• First Aid/CPR Certification (or ability to obtain).
• Experience using access control or visitor management systems.

 

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Ability to work in an office located at the site entrance with frequent interaction with vehicle traffic.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform light physical activity throughout the shift.
• Ability to work outdoors periodically in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, or overtime as operational needs require.
