We are transitioning away from siloed engineering roles toward T-shaped, AI-empowered web developers. As an Applied AI Software Engineer (Web), you will build user-centric web applications and banking solutions while utilizing AI-driven tools and agentic workflows to accelerate code delivery, testing, and system integrations.

Meet the job

  • AI-Enabled Web Delivery: Actively leverage AI coding assistants, LLM workflows, and automated tooling to accelerate feature development across UI, backend services, and APIs.
  • End-to-End Ownership: Deliver production-ready features for the Backbase Digital Banking and Wealth platforms—from Angular frontend components to backend microservice integrations.
  • Modern Web Engineering: Write clean, testable, and maintainable TypeScript/Angular code utilizing Nx, RxJS, and the Backbase Design System.
  • Quality & Performance: Design testable components, run unit/integration test suites, and uphold strict web accessibility (a11y), security, and performance standards.
  • Agile Collaboration: Work autonomously within a cross-functional Scrum squad (UX, QA, Product Managers) to ship rapid product increments.

How about you 

  • Experience: Minimum 2+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong focus on modern web technologies.
  • Tech Stack: Hands-on experience with Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), RxJS, HTML5, and SASS/CSS frameworks. Familiarity with toolchains like Nx, npm, or Webpack is a plus.
  • AI Exposure: Practical exposure to AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, LLM-driven testing or refactoring workflows).
  • Full-Stack Capability: Solid foundational knowledge of backend integrations, REST APIs, microservices, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Communication: Excellent written and spoken English, with strong collaboration skills in an agile, multidisciplinary environment.
